1 Week

This week was a busy and hard adjustment (which I am still not fully adjusted to yet) so I was unable to snap a bunch of pictures (which is a little disappointing to me). Here are two cute ones of him napping on his Daddy.

What a fun day! It started off a little scary. I had been in the hospital for severe bleeding the day before and they were inducing labor on Wed morning at 6am. My OB came to see me around 8am and told me my placenta was starting to abrupt from the uterine wall and it had split some. He said there were exposed arteries that can be a risk to a vaginal delivery if broken. He said he thought I could deliver without any trouble but there is a risk of having to do a VERY fast emergency c-section. I went ahead and opted for the c-section to elimate that risk. An hour later, there he was! 7 lbs 9 oz and 19.29 inches long and perfect in every way.

39 Weeks

39 Weeks

Okay, I suck. I have no motivation for anything anymore. I just slug around the house, doing laundry and such. I have energy, or the want to do stuff...but honestly I cannot breathe through my nose at ALL and if I can't breathe through my nose; I can't sleep. Period. I sleep like maybe 3-4 hours a night all in 1 hour intervals. I seriously think I will get more sleep with a newborn.

7 days to go. I am super excited and so ready to have him. I go to the doctor tomorrow, I wonder what he will say. Last week I was 60% efaced and dilated to a 1. I have had a ton of hard contractions and a little "false" labor so I would think I have progressed significantly.

We shall see.

I promise I will post pics soon, although it will probably be after I have little man. (btw, we do have some names but we are waiting until he is born so we can see what he looks like first) Our laptop is packed in our hospital bag and I am on a different computer currently. I have some giant belly pics to post...I'm huge.

36 Weeks

Well it's countdown time! 2 more days and I will be considered "full term." I'm glad to make it that far at least. I will say I am starting to get tired of being a planet. I still enjoy being pregnant and I believe I might feel empty inside without this little guy jabbing my ribs and pelvis every day. I had a sonogram on Feb 15th and he looked to be normal size (around 6lbs). We will see how big he really is in a few weeks. It is getting hard to get out of bed, however I am surprised with how quick I can get up off the couch. I called Courtney the other day b/c I really don't know how she even got out of bed with TWO 6.5 pounders in her tummy. I only have one and sometimes I don't want to move.

The nursery is 95% complete, I just need to hang some stuff on the walls. I have washed all his clothes and blankets and sheets and his hospital bag is packed. Mine is not. I am in the process of cleaning our room and packing our bag. To prepare for the shower, I tossed everything out of place into our room or the garage to hide our mess. Heh. I regret that now. Oh well...I'll get to it eventually.

I saw the doctor today and my cervix is still closed and I'm not dilated. I guess that's a good thing, I just expected to have something go on b/c I have been having a lot of contractions and my belly has definitely dropped. It's cool though, I can be patient. :) I'm still a little intimidated of being called a mom.

I will try to haul my butt upstairs with the laptop and scan the sono pics for everyone. They aren't as clear as his last ones, but you can see he has some full lips. :) That must be from me since I resemble Angelina Jolie. Not!

Capture the essence

I was browsing through the maternity pictures that we had taken and I came across this one. It just makes me laugh so much. I haven't posted all the pics yet b/c they need to be edited and I am waiting to get them back from the photographer.

Why is this always funny to me?

It just makes me laugh to pose like this with anything remotely penis shaped. Eric has a video of me trying to make out with it. Yes, that's correct. Video. I thought he was taking a picture so there is me acting like a total douche with this giant lump of snow. We quickly snapped this picture and then turned it into a snowman as seen below. Can you see how manly our snowman is? He has pecks and a 6-pack. :)
